Advice from Anne Lamott

I first read Anne Lamott's "Bird by Bird" many years ago. Before I began writing, in fact. I suppose it was a foreshadowing moment.

I think I read it because my mother gave it to me and I always read the books my mother gives to me. Maybe not right away, but eventually. They sit on my bookshelves or on the floor next to my side of the bed or in a box, even. And I get to them. Book by book. Bird by Bird.

I'm re-reading it now. Bird by bird is how Lamott breaks down the writing process. Scene by scene. Just get it down, chunk by digestible little chunk.

Thank you, Anne.
